Successful Ideas And Suggestions To Help You
Get Even More Auditions
Call The Soap Numbers We Gave You!
We have had numerous clients work on the soaps. We also have had clients read for contract roles on the soaps. Many of our clients have paid for our service by working on the soaps just one time. If you need these numbers again, e-mail us and we will send them to you. Call the soaps on a weekly basis!
Supply Us With A Theatrical (Dramatic) And A Commercial (Smiling) Headshot
We always try to submit the appropriate headshot for the appropriate role. Some clients just work with one picture, but we prefer to have a theatrical headshot and a commercial headshot from each client. Theatrical pics are obviously used for the more dramatic roles
and commercial pics are used for sitcoms, romantic comedies
and commercials. It is very difficult to submit a smiling picture for
a very dramatic role and vice versa.
Keep Us Supplied With Your Headshots
Once we start submitting your pictures, please try to keep us constantly
supplied. It greatly enhances your chances of getting auditions/jobs
if we submit every week, instead of submitting one week, skipping two weeks and then submitting another week. If you think we are low on pics you can always e-mail us and ask if we need more. More times that not, we will say go ahead and send more! When you send us pics, please put a post-it between the different types of pics.
Add A Personal Contact Number On Your Resume
Preferably a CELL PHONE number.
Even if you have representation (an agent or a manager), many casting directors
like to contact you directly. They may not like your agent or they just prefer
to deal with you directly. Do not put your personal number immediately
under your agent’s number. It then looks like a personal number for your agent.
Make sure your personal number is a working number. It is also important
to have a local area code on your cell phone (818), (323), (213), (310).
Get A Cell Phone And Try To Answer It 24/7
If you do not have cell phone and only use your home number on your resume
you could definitely miss jobs or auditions. The casting person may want
to cast you the next day, but by the time you check your messages it is too late.
They may even want to cast you that day!
It is extremely important that you have your cell phone with you 24/7 and that you
try to answer it 24/7! Many times clients have called us and said they could not understand the audition information that was left for them or they could not understand the phone number. We usually will not have that information. Sometimes you may need to change the audition time and the casting person does not leave a phone number at all!
Voice Mail
There will, of course, be times when you simply cannot answer your cell phone and you have to use your voice mail. Make sure your voice mail is set up. Make sure that your voice mail comes on as quickly as possible. The casting director does not want to listen to eight rings and then your voice mail finally picks up. It is important that your voice mail says your entire name and that the message is short. The casting director HATES wondering if they have reached the right number and listening to a long message. Do not put music, singing or anything else that could deter them from leaving a message. They do not want to listen to it. Your voice mail message should say something to the effect of “You have reached Joe Actor. Please leave a message.”
